Description
No. 6 Kings Lane is a cottage that is believed to date from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring whitewashed brick and plastered infill, while the left section has been replaced with whitewashed brick. The cottage has a thatched roof with a central brick chimney stack. It has a two-unit plan, which may have originally been a three-unit layout. The building is one storey high with an attic, and it includes one swept dormer on the left side and three ground floor windows. There is a late 20th century stable door located in the right corner. The windows are mainly 18th and 19th century casements, some of which have leaded lights. The end walls display exposed framing, with a small amount visible at the rear. Inside, there are winder stairs and some exposed framing. A large single storey addition from the 20th century has been added to the rear.
