Description

This is a late 19th-century house and cottage, believed to be a conversion of a 17th-century malt house and barn. The building is timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill and has a tile roof with two brick ridge chimneys and a square, louvred cupola topped with a weathervane. It is one storey and attic in height, with a six-window front. The main entrance features a four-panelled, half-glazed door within a simple, moulded wood architrave, and a porch dating from approximately 1870 to 1880, characterized by bobbin-turned balusters and a tile roof. A tiled hood covers the door to the cottage. The windows are largely late 19th-century casements, including a three-light rectangular bay window on the right side of the porch. A four-light bay window is located on the left return. Exposed timber framing is visible at the rear. The interior includes a 19th-century straight-flight, quarter-turn staircase. The floor level is lower in the cottage section on the right. A 20th-century single-storey addition is present at the rear of the building.
