Description

A house dating from the 17th century, with alterations and rebuilding in the early to mid-19th century, stands on Mill Lane in Bidford-on-Avon. The construction is timber framing with whitewashed brick and plaster infill, alongside a 19th-century section of whitewashed brick. There is a small amount of stone and two buttresses on the left side wall. The roof is tiled, and a stone chimney stack rises from the ridge with truncated brick shafts. The building is arranged in an L-shape. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. A 19th-century six-panel door is recessed within a late-19th-century porch. The windows are 19th-century iron casements with glazing bars, one featuring a segmental arch above. A rear wing includes an upper-floor door served by an external masonry staircase. Inside, there is a straight flight and winder staircase and some exposed timber framing.
