Description

The Healing family monument is a 19th-century baluster tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Twyning Village. It is made of sandstone and features an inscription at the west end dedicated to Alfred Healing, who died in 1867, and another at the east end for Sarah Healing, who died in 1939. The sides of the tomb may have additional inscriptions, but these were obscured by ivy during the last survey in May 1986. The monument is decorated with ribbed details and includes a winged hour-glass at the east end and a winged cherub's head at the west end.
