10/78 Cole Monument, about lm north of pair of Pearce Monuments in churchyard of Church of St. Mary the Virgin.

GV II

Chest tomb, earliest decipherable inscription to Joseph Cole, died 1770, but probably early C18. Limestone. Flat top, moulded plinth and capping on base built up to west on bricks, indented corners. Ends have spiral moulded astragal with palmette and anthemion frieze over and spiral edge oval inscription panels. Sides have diamond inscription panel with bundles of corn in corners.
