Description
This is a barn located approximately 30 meters to the east of Court Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is built from coursed rubble limestone and has an asbestos sheeting roof. The barn features nine bays and includes a south porch with an off-centre gabled design, which has plank doors supported by a steel lintel. There is a slit opening at the apex of the gable, along with slit vents in the main barn walls and small square vent holes. To the right, there is a pedestrian doorway and two loft holes above it. A north barn doorway aligns with the porch, and there is a loft doorway at the west end that includes five rows of pigeon holes. Inside, the barn has a collar and tie-beam truss roof structure with three rows of purlins and many original rafters. The original stone slate roof has been removed and sold to re-roof a church. This barn is part of a group with Court Farmhouse.
