Description
This barn, dating from the late 18th century, is located approximately 75 metres northeast of Home Farm Cottage. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with stone quoins and features a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn comprises four bays and has slit vents on the sides, with small lozenge-shaped openings above and triangular-shaped owl-holes in the gable ends.
On the southwest side, there is a two-storey hipped porch in the second bay from the northwest, which includes a 2-light leaded wooden casement window in the loft and boarded doors for both the loft and ground floor, featuring wooden lintels on the right-hand return front. The barn has opposed cart entrances, one on the southwest that is weatherboarded and another on the northeast with sliding doors.
Inside, the barn has vents with splayed jambs and wooden lintels, along with collar-and-tie-beam roof trusses and pairs of purlins.
