30 And 32, Tetbury Street

Two houses, numbers 30 and 32 Tetbury Street, were built in the early to mid-18th century. They are located on the south side of Tetbury Street in Minchinhampton. The houses are constructed of random rubble limestone, with roughcast render to number 30; the chimneys are of ashlar and brick, and the roof is covered in stone slate.

The houses are two storeys high with an attic. Number 30 has a two-window front, with two-light, chamfered mullioned iron casement windows on both floors. The ground floor windows have hoodmoulds. A central doorway features a timber lintel and a six-panel door. A gabled dormer window above has a leaded iron casement. To the right, a lower section has a plank door and a casement window on the ground floor, topped by an eaves-mounted dormer with a leaded casement. Number 32 has a more varied window arrangement, with mostly 20th-century restored mullioned casements to the right of the doorway, single segmental arched windows of varying sizes to the left, and a four-pane sash window on the ground floor. The window above the ground floor is a casement. The central doorway has a pedimented porch with a Doric order, fluted capitals, and an Adam style frieze decorated with paterae. The doorway itself contains a six-panel door with moulded panels. An attached garage and cottage to the east are not considered to be of special architectural or historic interest. The interior has not been inspected.
