Description
Two houses, numbers 4 and 5 Dog Lane, were built in the mid-18th century and raised in the early 19th century, with later 20th-century alterations. The houses are built of brick with a concrete tile roof. They are two storeys high, with a dentilled brick cornice. Number 4 has a two-light 19th-century casement window to the left and a three-light 20th-century casement to the right. Number 5 has similar windows, set under segmental brick arches. The entrance to number 5, at the left-hand corner, has a plain wooden architrave and a segmental head, with a 20th-century boarded door. The entrance to number 4, at the right-hand corner, has a plain wooden architrave and a 20th-century stable door, sheltered by a lean-to tiled canopy supported on simple wooden posts. Number 4 is attached to number 3. The houses are included on the list for their group value.
