Description
Two houses, numbers 23 and 24 Dove Street, were built between 1827 and 1830. They are constructed of brick with painted stone dressings, and have slate roofs. The houses have two storeys. Number 23 is of two bays, with a doorway in the left-hand bay, while number 24 consists of one bay with a doorway to its left. The windows have painted, rusticated lintels; number 23 has glazing bar sashes, and number 24 has sashed windows. Both doorcases feature reeded engaged columns, plain friezes, cornices, and plain rectangular overlights. The door to number 23 has four recessed panels, while the door to number 24 is a 20th-century replacement with six raised and fielded panels. Number 23 has a timber gutter supported by rectangular brackets, and number 24 has a PVC gutter. Ridge chimneys are located between the houses, and are shared to the left and right. The interiors were not inspected.
