Description

This is a house, dating to around 1840, with later alterations. It is located on Scarcroft Lane, York. The ground floor is faced with lined stucco, while the upper floor is roughcast. The roof is slate, with overhanging eaves supported by brackets, and a brick stack. The property has a two-storey, two-bay front, with a two-storey gabled crosswing to the left. The main front has a plain board door with a four-centred arch to the left of a two-light window. The crosswing features two-light windows on both floors, with board shutters to the ground floor. A right return shows a ground floor opening containing a door with two glazed and panelled leaves, and a first floor window. Window lights are round-headed, set within square-headed surrounds with sunk spandrels, and divided vertically into three panes, with shallow sills. The interior has not been inspected.
