Description

Number 12, known as The Mug House Public House, and Number 13 are two houses that have been converted into a public house. They date from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of painted and rendered brick and feature a tile roof, with a chimney stack on the front roof slope.

The structure has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by four gabled dormers. Number 12 has a band to the left. There are five windows in total: three timber cross-windows on the left and two 2-light casements on the right. The ground floor has four windows, including two canted bay windows on the left that flank the entrance, which features a plain wooden doorcase and brackets supporting a flat canopy over a ledged door. To the right, there are two 4-pane boxed sash windows with stone sills flanking another entrance, which has a similar surround and canopy, leading to a modern door. In the right corner, there is a semi-circular headed opening that leads to an alleyway going to Court Number 1. A pub sign located at the left corner on the first floor is a late 20th-century addition on a wrought iron bracket from the same period.
