Description

The Bell Inn is a public house dating from the late 18th century, situated on Lower Street in Cleobury Mortimer. It is constructed from coursed and uncoursed stone rubble, with corbelled brick eaves to the front, and has a plain-tile roof and two integral brick eaves stacks to the rear. The building has an L-shaped front range and a rear cross wing.

The front of the building is single storey with an attic. The street frontage has three windows: an 8/8 sash window to the left, a 2-light casement window to the centre (both with stone lintels and raised keyblocks), and a 19th-century flat-roofed canted bay window to the right, fitted with a pair of 6/6 sash windows and smaller side sashes. A 20th-century glazed entrance door is centrally located to the right, sheltered by a 20th-century illuminated canopy. A further entrance door with a flat projecting canopy is located to the left. Four tiled gabled dormers are visible, each containing a late 19th-century 2-light casement window with top-lights. The right return side features an 8/8 sash window on the ground floor of the rear wing. The interior now has mostly modern linings.
