Description
11 and 12 The Hurst are two houses that have been combined into one dwelling. They date back to the 17th century and have undergone later alterations. The building is constructed from stone rubble with brick dressings and features a timber-framed end gable. It has a plain-tile roof and originally consisted of two single-cell units.
The exterior is two-storey with a single-storey and attic section. The street front includes a single-storey and attic bay on the right, which has a renewed two-light casement window and a boarded door set in brick segmental arched openings. There is a single tiled gabled dormer with a renewed two-light casement. To the left, there is a two-storey bay with two-light casement windows on each floor and a 20th-century door to the right, also with brick segmental arched lintels at the ground floor. The left return side features a square-panelled timber frame at the first floor with brick infill panels, while the ground floor is made of stone rubble and has 20th-century casements.
The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
