Description
14 The Hurst is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of stone rubble, featuring a painted timber-framed gable end with brick infill panels. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a projecting stepped stone rubble stack with a brick upper shaft. The building has a single-cell plan with an end extension wing.
The exterior is single-storey with an attic. It has a 20th-century panelled front door and a two-light casement window, along with a tiled gabled dormer window that has a metal casement. There are stone and brick extension bays to the right. The right-hand gable end displays a gable-end truss with a straight brace, tie beam, and collar, which is partly obscured by the stepped stone stack with tiled offsets.
The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
