Description
Quay Cottage is a late 18th-century building that includes numbers 23 and 24 Dog Lane. It is constructed of painted brick with a tile roof and has stacks in the ridge. The structure is L-shaped, with 17 Severn Side North facing northeast and 23 and 24 Dog Lane facing northwest.
The northeast front features two storeys and a dentilled brick cornice. It has three windows: two 2-light casements flanking a 3-light casement. The ground floor windows are similar, also with segmental heads. The entrance, located to the left of centre, has a shallow pedimented 20th-century canopy supported by plain wooden brackets, leading to a 20th-century door with six raised and fielded panels.
On the northwest front, there are two storeys with a dentilled brick cornice. Number 23, to the right, is made of unpainted brick and has one plus two windows: two 3-light casements and a 2-light casement to the right. The ground floor features 20th-century casement windows with segmental heads, and a further window to the left also has a segmental head. The entrance to number 24 has a segmental head, a plain wooden architrave, and a 20th-century boarded door. To the right, the entrance to number 23 has a segmental galvanised iron canopy, a plain wooden architrave, and a door with six flush panels. The building underwent renovations in the late 20th century.
