Description

These are four houses located on High Street in Bewdley, built in the mid-18th century with some alterations from the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The houses are constructed of brick and topped with a tile roof, featuring rear stacks. They rise three storeys above cellars and have a dog tooth brick cornice. The front facade includes five windows, which are wooden cross-windows set beneath segmental heads made of a redder brick than the rest of the building, with blue headers. The windows to the left and right of the centre are both 20th-century replacements.

On the second floor, there are 2-light casements, many of which still have their original rectangular leaded lights. The ground floor mirrors the first floor with four windows, and the entrance to number 52 is on the left, accessed by two steps and featuring a flat canopy, wooden architrave, blind overlight, and a six flush panel door. The central passageway has a wooden architrave, blind overlight, and a ledged and boarded door, with the entrance to number 53 located in the left wall of this passage. The entrance to number 55 is to the right of the passage, reached by three steps, and includes a flat canopy, wooden architrave, and a four flush panel door with the upper two panels glazed. Lastly, the entrance to 55A is at the right corner, also accessed by three steps, featuring a flat canopy, wooden architrave, and a four flush panel door with the upper two panels glazed.
