Description
This is a house with a post office, built around 1720, with later 19th-century additions to the rear. The front of the building is constructed of ashlar limestone, while the sides and rear feature random rubble and brickwork. The roof is covered with stone slates, and the building has ashlar chimneys. It is a two-storey house with an attic, arranged on a double depth plan with a rear wing. The front elevation has a three-window arrangement. The upper floor windows are segmental arched, 18-pane sashes with thick glazing bars, set within keyed moulded architraves, bull-nosed sills, and keystones that extend into the moulded eaves. The ground floor windows have mixed styles, with one original 12-pane sash and another that has been reduced in size by the addition of a letterbox. A doorway on the right-hand side features a six-panel door and a blocked fanlight above. A projecting canopy covers the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
