Description
10 Tetbury Street is a house in a row, dated DMF 1682. It is constructed of random rubble limestone with a brick rebuilt chimney and a stone slate roof. The building is two stories high with an attic. The front features a two-window arrangement, with a three-light ovolo mullioned casement on the right side for both floors, and a two-light casement on the upper floor to the left. The ground floor has a timber replacement casement with a concrete lintel. There is a central doorway with a chamfered opening and a plank door. Notably, there are many finely carved fragments reset in the wall, believed to have originated from a fireplace, along with a Doric entablature above the doorway and two exquisite carved panels situated between the two right-side windows. A blocked oval window is reset to the right of the ground floor three-light. The house also features a central gabled dormer with a leaded casement. Inside, it is reported that there are additional fragments of a fireplace in a bedroom. The initials on the date panel may be associated with the Fowler family.
