Description

No. 54 High Street is a large house that is part of a terrace, built in the early 19th century. The exterior is rendered, with a pantile roof featuring an embattled parapet on the left side, and slate hanging on the north side. The front has an embattled design on the left-hand return (south side) and brick end stacks with oversailing courses. The building has a single front range and a rear wing, and it stands two storeys tall.

The façade features three windows with 16-pane sashes set in shallow reveals. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows alongside a central plain round-headed doorcase that includes a radial fanlight and a six-panel door with fielded panels. To the left of the doorcase, there is a plank door leading to a passageway, which is situated below the two-storey roofline that continues from No. 56. This property is included for its group value.
