Description
No. 46 High Street is a large house in a terrace, built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a double Roman tile roof, brick end stacks, a moulded stone cornice, and a plain stone band three courses of brick below the cornice, along with a brick parapet. The house has a single main range with a rear wing and stands two storeys tall.
The front facade includes three windows, which are 12-pane sashes with splayed brick voussoirs and moulded wood architraves. The ground floor has a central door with a plain lintel and six panels, of which the top two are glazed and the rest are fielded. To the right of the door is a bow window with two 12-pane sashes and a plain wood frieze. To the left, there is a canted bay set into later brickwork, which likely was formerly a carriage arch, as indicated by the large wooden lintel that remains on both sides of the bay. A flat wood canopy with a moulded cornice extends across the entire ground floor.
