Description

The barn at Stocks Farm, located to the west of the farmhouse, is a large structure likely built in the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a tiled roof. The north side features a prominent central gabled cart entry with double timber doors, flanked by a lean-to on the left and a catslide roof on the right that does not extend to the end. To the left of the lean-to, there is a gabled loft entry at the eaves, above a stable door that leads to an original stall. There is also a plank door on the far left, likely part of an addition with a stone end wall. On the south side, there is an opposed flush entry and a corresponding catslide lean-to on the left.

Inside, the barn consists of five bays supported by collar and tie beam trusses. The east gable wall features a pierced brick lozenge-shaped ventilation panel, although it is obscured by the stable and the east end. There is an internal stone partition wall at the west end, along with scattered slit vents and two skylights on the north side.
