Description
The Mary Butt Monument is a chest tomb located immediately east of the Dangerfield Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Nicholas in Standish. It dates from 1802 and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth, and capping on a large base. The ends of the tomb are slightly indented and adorned with top egg and dart moulding, as well as upturned gadrooning at the base. The east side includes a relief of a torch, while the west side has an urn. The sides of the tomb have moulded raised rectangular panels.
