Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 6.5 meters north of the Chamberlayne Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Nicholas. It dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth and capping, lyre ends with acanthus returns, and cartouche ends. On the south side, there is a recessed moulded rectangular panel with flattened scroll reliefs that have collapsed inwards. The north side was missing at the time of the survey conducted in January 1986.
