Description

Smith and three unidentified monuments are located about 10 meters north of the west buttress in the churchyard of the Church of St. Nicholas. The chest tomb, belonging to Smith, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, while the three headstones, aligned on the west side, are from the early to mid-18th century. The monuments are made of limestone. The chest tomb features a flat top with moulded capping and lacks a visible plinth. It has lyre ends with high relief and returns, with figures flanking the inscription on the north side and standing cherubs supporting a swag on the south side. To the south are two large headstones adorned with high reliefs of cherubs and floral relief around a round-bellied panel. To the north is a smaller headstone with similar decoration and a flat panel.
