Description

There are two unidentified chest tombs located about 15 meters north of the Niblett Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Nicholas. These tombs date from the late 17th century and are made of limestone. Each tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth and capping, with the plinth on the south side only just visible. The ends of the tombs are shaped like lyres and have acanthus returns, while the east side has plain rectangular panels and the west side displays high relief figures. The sides of the tombs include recessed rectangular panels adorned with strapwork moulding and flanking compressed acanthus scrolls.
