Description

TIDENHAM GENERAL ST 59 NE 10/193 Monument to Elinor Webley in the churchyard c11 metres south east of face of the tower of the church of St Mary and St Peter GV II Chest tomb, almost sunk into ground at time of survey, December 1983. Late C17. Sandstone. Flat top to moulded edge, west end with incised lyre or similar decoration, now largely concealed. Inscription, on top, to Elinor Webley, 1715 in fine lettering, but this almost certainly an earlier tomb. In alignment with Walter Webley and Christian Webley monuments (qv), and are of a group of four family memorials.
