Description

The Wells monument, located in the churchyard approximately 6 meters east of the Church of St. James, is a chest tomb dated 1730/31. It is made of limestone and features lyre ends with a late 18th-century inscription on the east end. The rectangular side panels have bolection mouldings and are adorned with floral drops on the north side and tripod-mounted flaming urns on the south side. The top of the tomb is cavetto moulded, while the base is cyma moulded. The north side is inscribed in memory of William Wells, who died in 1730/31.
