Description

Packers Cottage is a small detached house located on Bristol Road in Quedgeley. It dates back to the early 17th century, with a later addition from the 17th century. The house is timber framed, features a brick chimney, and has a concrete plain tile roof. It is primarily a single-storey structure with an attic, although there is a two-storey addition with an attic on the east side.

The west end of the cottage has a small framed gable end that displays both straight and curved bracing on a rendered plinth. There are two raking brick buttresses supporting the lower part of the ground floor, along with a single small-paned casement window on both the ground floor and attic, which includes a small fixed light above.

On the north side, there is three-bay small framing to the right, with short straight bracing on the principal posts. This side also features a single small-paned casement window with a raking roof dormer above it, a ridge-mounted brick chimney, and to the left, a timber-framed porch outshut that leads to a taller small framed addition with another small-paned casement.

The south side mirrors the timber framing of the north side and has scattered casements, a raking roof dormer to the left, and a lean-to open porch. The east end showcases a small framed jettied gable with a gabled porch addition. This side includes a large upper floor casement window flanked by smaller casements, and a jettied gable above with a small attic casement.
