Description

Laura Croft is a former pair of houses that has been converted into a single detached house, dating from the early 17th century. The building features a timber frame, with parts refaced in brick, and has brick chimneys along with a concrete replacement tile roof. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and is designed in an L-shape, with a single-storey outshut to the east.

The west front has a projecting gable end on the left, showcasing small framing and curved bracing. There is a long projecting 20th-century oriel window with a tiled hood, along with a 20th-century attic casement window also featuring a tiled hood. To the right, there is small framing with a tiled hood over a 20th-century oriel window, and above, a small-paned flat-roofed attic dormer sits over a brick plinth.

The south end is roughcast and has a projecting brick chimney stack. The north side displays square framing with straight bracing on a part-rendered plinth. It includes a projecting bay window with a 20th-century casement in what was formerly a door position, a 19th-century casement to the left, and a 20th-century canted oriel at the end of the outshut on the left. The east side features a half-hipped roof on the right with a central brick chimney, scattered 19th-century casements, and a flat-roofed attic dormer to the left. The single-storey outshut on this side is early 20th-century to the right and late 20th-century to the left. The interior retains much of its timber framing.
