Description

Teckels Cottage is a small, detached house dating from the 17th century, with later 20th-century additions. The original structure is timber-framed with brick infill, while the additions are brick. The roof is thatched, with plain tiles covering the later additions. It is a single-storey house with an attic, and has single-storey additions at each end. The north side features exposed timber framing, a central casement window, and a 19th-century leaded oriel window with a tiled hood on the right. A brick addition extends to the left, featuring a 20th-century flat-roofed canted bay window, and another brick addition with an imitation timber frame and small casement extends to the right. The east gable end shows original 17th-century timber framing and a brick chimney. A brick gable with a 20th-century casement window marks the addition. The west end has roughcast to the gable and a 19th-century leaded oriel with a tiled hood in the attic. A flat-roofed addition sits below. The south side displays timber framing with a mix of 19th and 20th-century casement windows, and a single 19th-century thatched dormer window. The interior was not inspected.
