Description
The barn at Hartsbarn Farm is a mid-19th century structure featuring random rubble stone walls with larger squared quoins and a slate roof. It has five bays and a central threshing floor. The doors are framed with heavy timber that stops below the eaves, and above the doors, there is weatherboarding. Each side of the doors has two tiers of three ventilation slits, and the gables include circular owl-holes. One end of the barn is built into the slope of the hill and has a shuttered pitching eye. Inside, the roof is supported by king post trusses, which are secured with iron bolts to the king-post.
