Description
This is a barn from the early 18th century located at Ley Mill Farm, built parallel to the road. It features a random rubble plinth and purply-brown brick walls arranged in irregular English bond, topped with a corrugated-iron roof. The barn has five bays and includes double doors leading to the threshing floor at the eaves. There are two rows of four slit air vents on each side, with one on the left replaced by a square boarded window. Inside, the barn has two king-post trusses and two trusses with collar and angle struts, along with two pairs of purlins; however, no wind braces or rafters remain. The roof may have originally been hipped above the upper purlins. The left end bay is lofted and was originally a stable, featuring a door on the side that is away from the road.
