Description
Northwood House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed with a rough render finish over a stone plinth, and has a double Roman tile roof. The house is three windows wide, with a single-window extension on the left side; the rear rooms are originally under a catslide roof. It is two stories high. The windows are irregularly spaced. The front door, positioned to the right of centre, is a six-panel door with a flat hood supported by brackets. The upper panels are fielded, and the lower panels are flush. The windows have cambered heads and are tripartite in design. The top of the centre window opens and pivots near the top, a notable original feature. A lower extension on the left of the house has a three-light window with an iron casement on the ground floor. A chimney is located on the ridge of the roof between the second and third windows from the right. Internally, the main part of the house consists of three rooms, with a cellar extending along the entire back, having a floor at a half-level above the ground floor.
