Description
The stables at Grange Court, located west of the house, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from Flemish bond red bricks set on a plinth made of copper slag or glass waste blocks, topped with a tiled roof. The building features a symmetrical facade with a boarded door that is divided into two halves, set beneath a cambered brick-on-edge arch. There are window openings on either side of the door, each with flat timber safe lintels and a cambered brick-on-edge arch above.
On the first floor, there is a central pitching hole, and the first-floor windows mirror the ground-floor windows, though only the timber frame remains, with blind openings on either side of the ground-floor windows. The eaves are adorned with dentils, with two oversailing courses below the brick-on-edge dentils. There is a two-light gable window located off-centre on the right side of the building, and a later lean-to structure has been added against the right gable. Inside, a timber trough and rack largely survive, along with collar and tie-beam trusses. The stables are included for their group value.
