Description
Stantway House is a farmhouse, likely built in the mid to late 18th century. It features white-painted random rubble with a clay tile roof. The building is two stories high and six windows long, with an irregular spacing of the windows. The front door is sheltered by a late 20th-century porch that has a hipped, tiled roof. The front wall is rendered from the right side of the porch to the left end. To the left of the porch, there is one window on each floor, with no window above. To the right of the porch, there are four windows on each floor, with the last two closely spaced, and the last window on the ground floor has been built up. The windows to the right of the front door have brick quoins and brick-on-edge cambered heads, painted to match the wall. The windows are three-light, timber-framed with mullions and transoms, featuring flat heads, iron opening casements, and leaded upper lights. The roof is hipped and has two brick chimneys along the ridge.
