Description
The former laundry was built in the mid to late 19th century and has undergone alterations in the 20th and 21st centuries. It is constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond and has a pitched roof covered in slate tiles.
The building has a rectangular plan with two rooms divided lengthwise, and the room at the south-west end spans the width of the structure. It is a single-storey building featuring a gable end stack at the south-west end. The north-west elevation includes, from left to right, a three-leaf door and two three-light casement windows.
Inside, there is a double furnace for a copper and bread oven with a cast iron door, along with a mid-20th century water pump. The room at the south-west end contains a large fireplace with a segmental arch, although the grate has been removed.
