Description
The former laundry at Rossdhu is an early 19th century building that was originally designed as a gazebo. It is a single-storey structure with a rectangular plan and a canted end, now roofless and partially in ruins. The exterior is faced with ashlar stone, featuring ashlar margins and dressings, and has a stugged squared and snecked gable. The building includes a cornice, a blocking course, and a base course.
On the north elevation, which is the main front, there is a canted section with a round-arched door at the center, flanked by bipartite windows. To the left, one window is missing its central mullion. The west and east elevations have a square bay that is advanced, with a round-arched window set within a round-arched ashlar frame. The south elevation is a blank gable with moulding around the gable and features no windows. The building is roofless, but part of the corniced apex stack remains on the south gable.
Inside, the space is overgrown and features cement lining, cast-iron pipes, ledges, and pits.
