Description
North Lodge, Rossdhu, is an early 19th century pair of single-storey classical lodges that flank a gateway. They are constructed of pink ashlar and have a rectangular plan with canted main elevations. The lodges feature a fluted impost band, a blocking course, a base course, and windows set in recessed round-arched panels.
On the north (main) elevation, there is a window at the center that is set within a broad round-arched recess, with flanking blind narrow round-arched recesses. There are round-arched doors on the right and left returns.
The gatepiers are blocky square structures with an ashlar base course and depressed pyramidal caps, flanking pedestrian gates. The lodges are surrounded by cast-iron arrowhead railings.
The windows are timber sash and case with gothick glazing. The roof is covered in grey slate with lead flashings, and there is a central corniced ridge stack with terracotta cans.
