Description
The Walled Garden at Rossdhu dates back to the earlier 19th century and is a large structure measuring approximately 100 meters square, with tall walls that reach a height of 17 feet. The walls are made of coursed rubble, with some areas repaired using cement harl, and feature ashlar slab coping. There is an entrance located at the center of the west wall, which includes an ashlar gabletted bellcote with a pointed arched opening above it. The south wall has a broad segmental arched opening, which has been infilled with boarded timber.
Inside, there is a range of glasshouses against the north wall, all of which are now in a ruinous condition. To the outer left, there is a lean-to range that shows remnants of decorative work with brackets. In the center, there is a large conservatory-style glasshouse with a canted block that is advanced at the center, resting on a sandstone ashlar base. To the outer right, there is a large, narrow curved greenhouse.
