Description

Wintle's Mill House is a detached house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with a slate roof, and is arranged in an L-shaped plan, with a symmetrical facade three windows wide over two storeys. The front door is a six-panel design, set within a reeded surround featuring paterae at the corners. It is sheltered by a steep segmental porch with an open underside supported by brackets. The windows are four-pane sashes with stone sills, each framed by stepped stone voussoirs forming flat arches. The centre window on the first floor is narrower than the others, but also a four-pane sash. The eaves feature dentil moulding, composed of bricks laid on their edge. A rear wing is located to the right and is built of random rubble.
