Description

Albion House is a detached house dating from the mid-19th century. It is built with Flemish-bond brickwork, with tuck pointing, and has a slate roof. The building is three windows wide and two rooms deep, arranged in an L-shaped plan.

The main facade features a central front door, set up one stone step, with four panels; the top two panels have semi-circular heads. Above the door is a simple rectangular fanlight, set within a rendered surround and ornamented with consoles to a moulded flat head. On either side of the door are sash windows with moulded jambs and plain sills, each featuring a projecting moulded flat head. A brick-on-end flat-headed opening, with an iron grille, provides access to the cellar on the left-hand side. The first floor mirrors the ground floor with three sash windows, though the heads are shaped as jambs. Shaped brackets support the eaves, and there is a projecting moulding below. The roof is hipped, with lead hips and ridge details, and features plain gable chimneys. A rear wing is timber-framed with brick nogging.
