Description
Nos 4 and 6 on Broad Street is a former house and shop, now functioning as a shop, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The building features a render that is lined to resemble ashlar and has a tiled roof. It is two windows wide and two rooms deep, with a long rear wing, and stands two storeys high with attics.
On the left side, there is a late 20th-century shop front. To the right, there is a door with six fielded panels and a semi-circular fanlight, flanked by ribbed pilasters that have decorative paterae at the top, and a bracket supporting an open pediment. The first floor has two sash windows, and there is a coved plaster cornice above, which returns on the left side over No 2. The roof is hipped, featuring a hipped dormer with a sash window that has sashes one pane high. There is a stump of a brick chimney on the left return, adjacent to a tall stack that appears to be part of No 2.
