Description
No. 7 Broad Street is a former house and shop, now functioning as a shop. It dates from the 17th century and has been altered in the 18th or early 19th century, with further changes made in the 20th century. The front is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, while the rear features exposed timber-framing. The building has a tiled roof and is one room wide and two rooms deep, standing three storeys tall.
The 20th-century shop front has a door on the left and a deep fascia above, with panelled blocking pieces and semi-circular heads at the ends. There is a two-light casement window on the first floor and a three-light window on the second floor, which includes an iron opening light. The eaves are boarded, and the ends of the wallplates project slightly. The front has a hipped roof, while the pitch of the roof was lowered later for the rear bay.
