Description
No. 16 Broad Street is a former house, now used as offices, dating from the 18th century. It features painted Flemish bond brickwork on the front and has a tiled roof. The building is one window wide and has an 'L' plan, with two storeys and attics. The late 20th century shop front includes a two-light casement window with a flat head above, set under a steep segmental arch made of brick-on-end with a fluted, capped keystone. The eaves have small dentils with a moulded timber above, and there is a central hipped dormer with slate cheeks and a two-light casement window. A brick chimney is located on the right side, behind the ridge. The building is included mainly for its group value.
