Description
No 5 Culver Street is a house in a row, likely dating from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered panels and a plinth, topped by a tiled roof. The building is L-shaped and has one and a half storeys, with two windows across its front. The framing consists of two panels high. On the left side, there is a blocked doorway with a Tudor arch made of timber above it, alongside a 16-pane fixed-light window and a boarded stable door that is accessed by two steps. To the right, there is a long multi-paned oriel window with slightly canted ends, covered by a lean-to tiled roof. Above, two 2-light casement windows are set in gabled dormers, with their sills positioned below the wallplate. A chimney is located on the ridge of the left gable, positioned behind the ridge over the dormer. This building is part of a group with No 1 Culver Street and other structures in Broad Street.
