Description
No 7 on Church Street is a shop building from the first half of the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a tiled roof. The structure is two windows wide, with two storeys and an attic. The shop front has a square bay that is three panes wide, with a rendered base. To the right is a half-glazed door with flush panels below and a two-pane rectangular fanlight above. The door and bay are flanked by narrow, plain wooden pilasters that support deep scroll consoles, which have moulded ends leading to a projecting head with a moulded cornice. On the right side, there is a boarded door set under a cambered brick arch. The first floor has two sash windows with wide glazing bars and flat, brick-on-edge heads, with weight boxes close to the wall surface. Inside, there is a coved plaster cornice, and on the left side of the gable, there is a plain brick chimney. The attic features two gabled dormers with two-light casement windows and iron opening lights.
