Description
Bachelor's Hall is a house that possibly dates back to the 16th century and was altered and enlarged in the 19th century. It features pebble dash, which is at least partly over timber framing, and has a slate roof. The building is designed in an L-shape with its gable facing the road and stands two stories tall.
The gable includes a 2-pane sash window on the ground floor that cuts into a coved jetty on the first floor. Above this, there is a 3-light wooden casement window with an iron opening light. The gable also has slight, plain bargeboards, and the eaves on the right side are higher than those on the left.
On the left side of the building, there are two projecting stone chimney stacks, with their tops rebuilt in brick. On the right side, there is a 4-pane sash window and a central door on the ground floor. The door features a reeded surround and a pair of French doors, topped with consoles supporting a peaked hood. Above the door, there is another 4-pane window.
At the back, on the right, there is a return wing with an ashlar plinth and one 4-pane sash window on each floor, along with a gable chimney. The interior has not been inspected.
