Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard about 8 metres south west of the south west buttress of the tower of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge, heavy bolstered ends, and fielded panels on the north and south sides. The base is sunk and there is evidence of ivy growth at the time of the survey in November 1983. Some inscriptions remain on the north side, but they are no longer legible. This tomb is part of a triangular group of three tombs in this area and lies to the north west of the Mary King monument.
