Description
This is a semi-detached cottage attached to Top Cottage, occupied by Mr. P. Hanks. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and is built of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone and sandstone, topped with a stone slate roof and featuring brick stacks. The cottage has a rectangular plan, with later extensions on the left that are not of special interest.
The garden front has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by two-light roof dormers with horizontal glazing bars. The facade has two windows, featuring two and three-light double-chamfered, stone-mullioned casements, with stopped hoods over the ground floor windows. There is a 19th-century plank door at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
